Head Coach position is available at Westwood High School. The DI program has a strong current cadre of players, the lacrosse community in the area is growing rapidly and the program is positioned well for continued success and growth.  In addition to the Head Coaching responsibilities of the Varsity team, the position is responsible for managing the JV team.  Compensation is negotiable with additional income opportunities available with club programs, youth programs, and private lessons. 

Successful candidates have:

  • College lacrosse experience
  • Coaching experience at the HS level
  • A passion for the game that is contagious to the players and the entire lacrosse community·       
  • A positive coaching style that develops both lacrosse skills and leadership skills

Responsibilities:

  • Head Coach of Varsity Lacrosse team with a goal of winning championships·       
  • Manage the JV coaches & team with a goal of developing players into future champions
  • Participate in recruitment and selection of the Varsity and JV coaches·       
  • Participate in recruiting activities for grades K-8 to bring more players into the sport·       
  • Be a positive influence and role model to the HS players both on the field and off
  • Season includes a fall tournament season, and spring competitive season
  • With assistant coaches, complete necessary administrative activities such as Off Campus PE credit forms
  • Work with area coaches to schedule games
  • Recommend players for district/state awards, help players gain exposure at the college level, etc.

The Bowie Lacrosse Club is looking for a head coach to lead the Bulldogs, a Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) Division 1 member program.  In addition to the primary responsibility for the Bowie Varsity team, candidates will be expected to assist with the activities of the Southwest Austin Lacrosse Association (SWALA) feeder program. 

Lacrosse participation is growing in and around Austin, and the future is bright for Bowie with a track record of solid performance and a strong pipeline of young players in Southwest Austin.

 Details:

 * This is a coaching-only position reporting to the Bowie Lacrosse Board and the Bowie High School Principal. Compensation is competitive and negotiable

 The ideal candidate will have:

 * A proven track record at a high school level or higher of motivating players to reach their potential

 * A solid foundation of lacrosse fundamentals and the ability to teach them

 * A focus on the long term growth of the program through recruitment and development through the  
    SWALA feeder program and other outreach efforts

 * An ability to command respect and enforce team discipline

* Solid communication skills for working with the Board of Directors, Parents, and Players

 Responsibilities:

 * Direct all Varsity team practice and game activities

 * Work with the Board to develop budgets, and schedule practices, games and scrimmages

 * Lead the assistant coaching staff, currently composed of 2 paid and 1 volunteer coaches

 * Provide mentorship to individual team members to reach their lacrosse goals during high school       
    and beyond

 * Work with the Board to recruit new players at all levels, from youth through high school

 * Hold coaching seminars and provide guidance to SWALA coaches

 * Enforce UIL requirements for academic eligibility including "No Pass / No Play"

 * Enforce Player Code of Conduct requirements

Boys' DI Varsity Assistant Coach Available: 2014-2015.  Deadline: OPEN.  Position Description: Vandegrift High School is the newest High School in Leander ISD and opened with freshmen and sophomores in the fall of 2009.  The Vipers play in the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) Central Division.  VHS completed our inaugural lacrosse season in the spring of 2010, advanced to the DII Final Four in 2013 and made the DI playoffs in our first DI season in 2014.  The program has grown into 65 plus players at the high school level split between a DI Varsity, DII Varsity and a JV team. 

Vandegrift is looking for an experienced lacrosse player/coach for our DI Varsity team.  VHS has a very dedicated board and a solid tradition of lacrosse at the youth level with good players feeding into the high school program.

Coaching and/or playing experience is required.  Candidates should have a passion for the sport and interest in building a highly competitive program.  Applicants should be knowledgeable of the fundamentals and have a love for teaching the game.

Salary: To be discussed.  Appointment: Part-Time, the season runs November through May with some additional administrative responsibilities in the off season.  Candidates must pass a state mandated background check.

 Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·        Attending practices during the week from 4:15 to 6:00 PM and on Saturday mornings.

·        Coaching, mentoring and developing athletes and assisting in their personal growth.

·        Participating in the development and implementation of practice and game plans.

·        Scouting future opponents as necessary.

·        Setting up and running practices and drills.

·        Attending various coaching meetings as necessary.

·        Assisting with the youth program.
