AHS participates as a 6A school in all UIL athletics and other UIL governed events (6A is the largest classification within the state of Texas) with an enrollment of approximately 2,200 students. Within AISD, Anderson incorporates its feeder middle school and elementary schools into the concept of a “vertical team”, which - for AHS - consists of Murchison Middle School and 5 elementary schools (Davis, Doss, Hill, Pillow and Summit Elementary Schools).
