McKinney Lacrosse Coaching Opening

McKinney Lacrosse Association opening for High School Head Coach.

McKinney Lacrosse Association is seeking an engagingcoach with proven lacrosse knowledge (both a player and a coach) and player/skill development. The club’s specific need is for a candidate looking to help build and foster a positive club culture that focuses on player development of game IQ, skill/mental determination development, and to cultivate/implement a Principle based style of play at the varsity level and all youth levels of play  

The McKinney Lacrosse Club is a non-profit organization formed to develop the lacrosse skills and talent of the players who participate on its teams, educating them about the sport and competition and developing their love of the game. We seek to provide a positive and enriching lacrosse experience for all players, with appropriate opportunity for growth and competition. 

Primary Functions:

Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all practices and community events as a representative of the club.

Foster and develop a culture of enthusiasm and competitive spirit for the young men of the club.

Provide effective leadership through coaching and recruiting.

Be prepared and punctual for all coaching responsibilities.

Prepare and implement practice and game time responsibilities such as lineups, substitutions, strategy.

Implement a Principle based style of play and culture within the club.  

Plan skill and teamwork development activities to be implemented at practices (anticipate at least 4-5 practices weekly during season in addition to games and events).

Perform other duties as assigned by Board President.

Be present at McKinney Lacrosse events and activities when available.

 

Qualifications & Skills: Previous coaching experiencerequired. Proven interpersonal skills to motivate and develop nurturing and respectful relationships with student-athletes, other coaches, officials, parents, and the club's board. 

Motivated to develop and improve the HS system to assure that players are ready for the next level within the program. Must adhere to all rules of the game (NCAA and THSLL)

Documented Lacrosse playing experience at the college level preferred.

Salary: To be determined based on candidate experience level.

Must pass mandated state background check and be a US Lacrosse member.
