This site will have the Championship games streamed live on Sunday beginning at 12 noon.

The Texas High School Lacrosse League State Championship itself is set for Mother's Day weekend, May 7 - 8, 2011 at Woodforest Bank Stadium, according to John Rizzuti, President of The Woodlands Lacrosse Association (WLA). Hosted by the WLA, the top four teams in Boy's High School Lacrosse from around the state in Divisions I and II will face off in semi-final games on Saturday, May 7. The State Championship will be decided on Sunday, May 8 as the top two teams left standing in each division compete for the title.

Jeff Watts Production, Inc., the leader in sports productions in the Southwest, will produce the show.  Jeff Watt Productions produces for ESPN, CBS College, Fox College, CBS / TXA21 in DFW, Fox Sports Southwest, and many college conferences including the Southland Conference Television Network.

"The popularity of lacrosse in Texas has been incredible with many of the Texas athletes now receiving scholarships to some of the Ivy League and Big East schools," said Jeff Watts, Owner and Executive Producer for Jeff Watt Productions. We are excited to produce the two championship games on May 8 for Fox College, a national network which is part of the Fox family, to lacrosse enthusiasts from Texas and across the nation.

The televising of this Championship is a boost to the sport of lacrosse. "The Texas High School Lacrosse League, home to over 3,500 high school student athletes in Texas, and the THSLL State Championship weekend, is excited to have this opportunity to showcase the best-of-the-best.  Having the competition televised is a significant win for these student athletes and the sport of lacrosse in Texas," said Ray Martin, Commissioner of the Texas High School Lacrosse League. "We are excited that our League is going to be exposed to fans and families who cannot make it to Woodforest Stadium to see the games in person.  It will be a great weekend of lacrosse!"

The THSLL State Championship is sponsored by the City of Shenandoah, St. Luke's Lakeside Hospital, Harrow Lacrosse and Trilogy Lacrosse. Free admission is available for youth lacrosse players when they wear their team game jerseys or team spirit wear (Young Guns, Middle School and Junior High). Youth under five years of age are admitted free. Admission for youth and adults, 65 and over, is $5 while adult ticket prices are $10.

The Woodlands Lacrosse Association is an umbrella organization representing over 300 lacrosse players and their families from the Young Guns and Young Dolls to the varsity programs for both Girls and Boys. For more information on the WLA, visit

THSLL Member School Programs –

Rules Change Proposal Process for 2011 State Meeting

We want to be sure to remind you of the THSLL process for submitting  rule change proposals to be considered as agenda items for the THSLL State Meeting so that you have time to complete the requirements associated with that process.  Towards that end, the following outlines the process and requirement for THSLL Member School Program submission of topics for consideration for the THSLL State Meeting agenda and voting items list.

THSLL Member School Program Rule Change Proposals for 2011 THSLL State Meeting Consideration…

THSLL Member School Programs submitting rule change proposals (Rule Change Form attached) to be considered at the 2011 THSLL State Meeting on September 24, 2011 are required to provide a detailed proposal using the THSLL Rule Change form and supporting documentation, and a signed petition, and/or written acknowledgements  demonstrating support by at least 20% of the THSLL Member School Programs, of which 50% must be from outside the submitting THSLL Member School Program’s district.

The THSLL Board of Directors  has agreed to only bring THSLL Member School Program proposals before the THSLL Member School Programs for consideration and a vote at a THSLL State Meeting and/or special meeting when this requirement is met.

The proposals and the supporting documentation should be sent to Nancy Powers, the THSLL State Administrator, at on or before June 15, 2011.

This process serves three purposes.

  • First, it ensures that THSLL Member School Programs have their proposals seriously considered and that all THSLL Member School Programs are aware of such proposals, and have the opportunity to consider them, discuss them, and weigh in on whether they believe all the THSLL Member School Programs should consider them.
  • Second, it gives the submitting THSLL Member School Program an opportunity to present their proposal to other THSLL Member School Programs and receive feedback and suggestions on the proposal, and garner support for it to meet the submission requirement.
  • Third, it ensures that the THSLL Member School Programs have a voice in the direction of THSLL and that we are making THSLL decisions based on majority and/or super majority rule after careful consideration of such proposals and/or alternatives from the due diligence around them.

We will hold rule change proposals for consideration for the THSLL State Meeting agenda until August 5, 2011.

At that time, if the required documentation and THSLL Member School Program support as called for above have been received by the THSLL Board of Directors the rules change proposals will be added to the agenda for the THSLL State Meeting and time will be allocated for their consideration and a vote taken on them by the THSLL Member School Programs.

The THSLL Board of Directors is committed to leading and making decisions with the active participation of the THSLL Member School Programs that support the THSLL principles to grow the sport of lacrosse while maintaining the quality of the experience, and to making lacrosse available to as many Texas high school boys as possible.  We hope that you will view this as the means to that goal, and to building the bridge to the future of THSLL.
