Each division will rotate seedings 1 through 6 on a 3-year schedule, with the following limitations:

(A) seeds 1, 2 and 3 will be the division winners;

(B) seeds 4, 5 and 6 will be the 2nd place teams in the divisions;

(C) on the rotating basis to be discussed below, seeds 1 and 6 will come from the same division (1st and 2nd place therein), seeds 2 and 5 will come from the same division (1st and 2nd place therein), and seeds 3 and 4 will come from the same divisions (1st and 2nd place therein);

(D) in year 1 (2014), the North is seeds 1 & 6, the Central is seeds 2 & 5, and the South is seeds 3 & 4, in year 2 (2015), the
the Central is seeds 1 & 6, the South is seeds 2 & 5, and the North is seeds 3 & 4, and in year 3 (2016), the South is seeds 1 & 6, the North is seeds 2 & 5, and the Central is seeds 3 & 4;

(E) for purposes of the THSLL's playoffs, seeds 1, 2 and 3 (division winners) will be the South's representatives to the state playoffs' Super-Regionals as seeds 1, 2 and 3, respectively and they will travel according to the THSLL's schedule;

(F) the 4-seed to the THSLL's state playoff Super-Regional will be determined by the play-in playoff structure in section (G) on or before the Wednesday prior to the start of the Super-Regional each year (this season, the deadline is April 23, 2014);

(G) the 5-seed will host the 6-seed on the Thursday (Friday for rain-outs) of the week before the Wednesday defined in section

(F) [this season, the first round of the play-in playoff will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at a Central Division team's home site], and the winner will advance to play the 4-seed at the 4-seed's home field on the following Tuesday (Wednesday for rain-outs), which complies with the deadline stated in section (F) [this season, a South Division team will host the play-in playoff final on April 22, 2014];

(H) the South District Division II teams will discuss and specifically set the dates for the games outlined in section (G), as well as the date by which all regular season games must be completed, at its Fall meeting scheduled by the South DII District Coordinator;

(I) any changes to the schedule (1) made during the regular season and requested more than a week prior to its end, must be agreed to by the member teams in a vote called by the South DII District Coordinator and may be done in-person or electronically, or (2) requested during the 7 days prior to the end of the regular season or while in the playoff time period must be cleared with the South DII District Coordinator.

 Dick’s Sporting Goods announces the launchingSports Matter program!

DICK’S Sporting Goods believes in the importance of youth athletics and have launched the Sports Matter program to address the growing issue of underfunded youth sports teams.  This initiative will raise awareness and match community donations up to $2 million on a new crowdfunding platform to save teams facing financial challenges.

The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation is an exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation created by DICK’S Sporting Goods, Inc. as a private corporate foundation to support DICK’S charitable and philanthropic activities.

Sports Matter is focusing resources on entire teams disappearing or never competing at all due to severe financial challenges.  Additionally, the program aims to strengthen and expand community support for high-quality youth sports available for young people nationwide.

Up to 575 applications will be accepted through March 21 from K-12 teams that have been eliminated, are at risk of elimination, or have never been able to form because of financial limitations.  Teams must be affiliated with a school, nonprofit or youth sports league with 501(c)3 status, and be able to identify a specific fundraising goal needed for the team to play.

The DICK'S Sporting Goods Foundation is legally obligated to only make grants to Teams associated with tax-exempt entities, so you must be affiliated with a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or a public school in order to apply for the Sports Matter Program. If you do not qualify for the Sports Matter program due to this requirement or any of the other eligibility requirements, The DICK'S Sporting Goods Foundation has other opportunities available to organizations and youth sports programs. Sports Matter involves both crowdfunding and matching grants provided by The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation. The crowdfunding aspect of the program is to help Teams activate and energize both current and new Team supporters, which will contribute to the sustainability of their programs. The matching funds will directly support Teams and provide incentive for supporters to donate during the crowdfunding phase in order to double their impact.
